AB - This document assembles best practice guidelines to assess flow conditions around tidal turbines during all stages of the design and development process. In progressing through the sequence of technology readiness levels experimental tests are usually performed at increasing scales. Advice is given for small scale experimental tests, up to resource and performance assessment at full scale installation sites. Recommendations comprise the selection of the appropriate test method and scale, design of equipment, data acquisition and analysis.
